The Nord 2 by SMOK may look similar to the original Nord device, but that’s where the similarities end!

The original was one of the most popular pod systems in 2019, and now in 2020, the SMOK Nord 2 is poised to take the world by storm. With significant upgrades in every aspect, Nord 2 represents the future of pod vaping.

Under the familiar design lies an integrated 1500mAh battery, which offers 400mAh more capacity than the original Nord, and a remarkable increase in power from 15W to 40W max, rivaling both the RPM40 and Fetch Mini kits from SMOK!

The Nord 2 maintains a simple design with a single firing button, now enhanced with a 0.69″ OLED screen that displays the variable wattage setting, Ohm reading, voltage setting, and battery life.

To activate the device, simply click the button five times and hold down to use. With this model, you can adjust the wattage by pressing the button three times, then holding down to cycle through the numbers until you reach your desired wattage. Once set, release your finger, and your setting will be confirmed with a double flash.

The airflow remains in the same position as the Nord but features larger openings to accommodate the increased power output. Another practical adjustment is the pod connection mechanism, which now clips into place instead of using the old magnetic version, providing a sturdy and snug fit.

Each kit includes two pods: an RPM Pod (RPM 0.4Ohm Mesh Coil preinstalled), compatible with the RPM coil range, and a Nord Pod (Nord Dual 0.8Ohm MTL Coil preinstalled), compatible with the replacement Nord coil. This provides you with 12 coil options to choose from, including RPM RBA coils for DIY enthusiasts.

The Nord 2 features a curved mouthpiece similar to its predecessors like the Novo, but comes with an increased pod cartridge capacity of 4.5ml, making it more user-friendly. It also utilizes the Nord and RPM coils, known for their excellent flavor and vapor production.

One minor drawback of this model is the absence of the viewing window in the mouthpiece, but with the increased capacity, you should need to refill less frequently.

Among the most significant upgrades is the addition of the IQ-N chip, making it a smarter device. With the larger battery size, the Nord 2 is expected to last users throughout the day after a full charge. The advanced chipset automatically detects coil resistance and adjusts the settings accordingly, ensuring a hassle-free experience. The chipset also offers protection against short circuits, low voltage, and features an 8-second safety cutoff.
